Winter Olympics
Working for a New York agency this project turned out to be one of my most intense, working 20 consecutive 14 hr days. It was a rush job that had apparently popped up by surprise for the agency and had to be completed in a few weeks in time for the US Winter Olympics.
With no time for photography it all had to be done from stock images which were being researched and sourced as the job moved forward. As well as the main comps each of the sports figures needed a fair amount of retouching to remove logos and various other features from their existing outfits, each comp had many iterations with different figures before the final choice. Based in the UK I would prepare the previous days images in the morning ready for the start of day in the US at around 2pm when we would get into a full days art direction and corrections.
In the main image here I even managed to sneak in one of my own panoramic images of the cairngorm mountain range which I inverted and brightened up to make it appear as a snowy backdrop.
